Award : Master of Science with specialisation in Remote Sensing and GIS shall be awarded to all the successful candidates by The Global Open University, Nagaland. They will also be eligible for admission in the M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree programmes in the relevant Schools and Faculties at The Global Open University, Nagaland. Second Year The fee of Rs. 18,125 is payable at the time of admission. Submission of Assignments :
All admitted students are required to submit their
assignments for all the subjects of the M.Sc. Degree
programme in fulfilment of the requirements of 30
marks each paper. For this, they have to prepare
Mini Project Reports based on a topic of their
choice for all subjects of M.Sc. Despatch of Lessons and Identity Card : The admission will be confirmed within a month and the set of lessons and the Identity Card will be despatched by post to all the admitted candidates. Concurrent Admission : Those admitted and studying in any other Master's Degree may also be admitted in the M.Sc. (Remote Sensing and GIS) for shaping their careers with a view to managing GIS based systems. Master's Thesis : All admitted students will be working on a particular topic for preparing the Master's Thesis to be submitted before appearing in the second year examination. The topic may be related to Geographical Information System, Remote Sensing, Physical Geography, Spatial Database Design and Management, Map Digitization, Cartography, Map Analysis, Land Use Planning, Resource Management, Disaster Management Plans, Earthquake Engineering, Transport Planning, Forest Conservation, Urban Development, Desert Area Development, Wildlife Protection, Wilderness, Wasteland Development, Small Island Development, National Parks Planning and Management, Internet Based GIS etc. Practicals at New Delhi based Geo-Info-Lab : Computer and Software based training of five days is provided at New Delhi to the interested candidates for acquiring expert knowledge. |
